Knowledge is proud that he has learn’d so much;
Wisdom is humble that he knows no more.
Books are not seldom talismans and spells.

William Cowper
The Task. Book vi. Winter Walk at Noon. Line 96

It has been said that knowledge is power.
If that is true, then all of Oz should fear the people of the North, the Gilliq,
for all the knowledge of wisdom is hidden within it's boundaries.

Every thing that happens is known here, and the haughty people of the north have been divided with their knowledge.  Some delve into studies of magic and weird science, while others abandon knowledge and wisdom altogether in pursuits of hedonism and excess.  Many trust the Gilliq even less than the Wan-qu, for their history is stained with darkness and tainted with the powers of darkness.  For the Gilliq have seen the end, and they race toward it.  Some race to stop it.

Others race to embrace it and heed its coming.
